Rev L B Angam was born on 17th Sept. 1956. He served as Indian Army for 6 good years and 8 months starting from 1974 till April, 1981. He then took voluntarily retirement from the army as he sensed the calling of God to become a missionary on April 1981. Right after getting discharged, he joint Operation Mobilisation (OM) India at Orrisa and went on to spread the Gospel to Bhutan as a pioneer missionary from 1984 – 1986. While at Bhutan, he was financially sponsored by All India Prayer Fellowship. However, his stay at Bhutan was cut short due to serious illness and was compelled to come back home (INDIA) in the year 1986.
He gets associated with Evangelical Churches Association (ECA) and serves as a missionary among Hindus at Tentha from the year 1989 until 2000. He was the founding Principal of the Tentha Model School (TMS) where he served till mid-2000. He then left Tentha to pursue Theological Studies.
After completing his M.Div in 2004 from Evangelical College of Theology (ECT), he went to Shillong, Meghalaya on deputation for two years and worked as the local Pastor of the Kuki Worship Service (KWS), Shillong.
After completing his deputation service in Shillong, he was elected to the post of Evangelist At-large of the Evangelical Churches Association.
While working as Evangelist At-large under ECA, he was elected to the post of the Mission Director of the Evangelical Congregational Church of India (ECCI) in the year 2008 for a term of 4 years then went on to become the General Director of the ECCI in the year 2012 after completing his term as Mission Director. He is happily married with L B Lamkhohoi, and is blessed with boys, L B Zamminthang, L B Daniel T and L B Seiboi.
